Meg Furukawa is a nursing informaticist at UCLA Health in Los Angeles, California. She has worked in informatics for over 19 years, with experience designing, implementing, training, supporting, and optimizing electronic health records and technology solutions for nurses to provide efficient care with improved outcomes. Her clinical background is as a critical care clinical nurse specialist and her current focus is integrated areas of inpatient nursing. Meg is a member of the Information Modeling workgroup of the Nursing Knowledge Big Data Science initiative working to achieve shareable, comparable, nurse-sensitive data to support practice and research to transform healthcare. She is a founding member of the ANIA SoCal chapter and served as the chapter secretary for 3 years.
