Stepping into a leadership role is invigorating, exciting, and a bit scary. Doing it during a pandemic, with a hybrid work environment and with blended teams, brings additional challenges. This session reviews one leader’s experience of transitioning from analyst to director of two informatics analyst teams at a large healthcare system during the rollout of an enterprise-wide electronic health records system. Lessons learned about communication, planning, and struggles with work/life balance as a new leader is shared.
