Kara Schleifer has been working as a nurse for 18 years with a background that includes school nursing and a variety of inpatient settings. Kara was a school nurse for Omaha Public Schools in Omaha, NE for the past 8 years before deciding to transition her career. By doing so, she recently obtained her master’s degree in nursing informatics this last year, and is currently working as a clinical informaticist with CHI Health in Omaha, NE. During her time as a school nurse Kara was a member of the Nebraska School Nurse Association committee, a member of the National Association of School Nurses, and received the Nebraska School Nurse of the year award in 2022. Kara is currently a member of the ANIA Heart of America Chapter.
