The adoption of EHRs significantly increased after the approval of Meaningful Use and provided the capability to connect devices and eliminate manual data entry. However, with this increase in capability, comes an increase in vulnerability. The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) medical devices sense changes in our patients and deliver life-altering treatments. This presentation will guide nurses through the steps they can take at their homes and in their personal lives to improve overall cyber hygiene. Discussion will also concentrate on the different vulnerabilities in devices and provide recommendations on how to integrate with biomedical departments and/or cybersecurity departments.
