This session will concentrate on the growing importance of somatic testing of cancers, which can lead to targeted therapies and an increasing number of clinical trails. The interplay between genetic and somatic alterations will be explained. A description of the latest omics testing technologies as well as RNA testing and proteomics will be described. Finally, how important bioinformatics has been to get to this exciting technology and the current role of informaticists will be presented.
