Nursing informatics teams vary between organizations in reporting structure, number of employees, clinicians they serve, and role responsibilities. What features should you consider for your nursing informatics team, how can you enhance it, and how does it align and interact with groups outside of informatics? This presentation reviews considerations for healthcare organizations to create, sustain, or enhance a nursing informatics team; help nursing informatics leaders identify a charter and vision to address current needs and align with nursing operations; and encourage organizations to discuss best practices for their nursing informatics team.
