Dr. Rebecca Freeman is Vice President of Nursing Informatics and CNIO at the University of Vermont Health Network. A second career nurse who spent her first 15 years in Information Technology, her health IT career began with large-scale EHR implementations, but her focus has evolved to the gaps in nursing education that leave nurses underprepared to use technology and data effectively. A former CNO at ONC (now ASTP) Harmon, she now works nationally to advance nursing’s voice, co-chairing the Nursing Knowledge Big Data Science conference and speaking widely on education, preparedness, and the future of nursing informatics..
