010 - Nurses Make the Difference - Collecting Data to Prove It

Data collected, analyzed, and turned into information toward improved patient health care experience elude many staff. This workshop presents, from the nursing informaticist’s perspective, lessons learned from the implementation of a structured taxonomy within a hospital information system and the effective efforts to drive simplified, structured, automated patient documentation to everyday use. It discusses the implementation methodology, successful training approach, follow up, and process-improvement activities.
