OD04 - Rounding the Corner: Usability Testing Methods Here We Come!

Explore how usability evaluations are a critical asset to any informaticist and how to complete these assessments. Presenters highlight common methods and examples, and compare the use of questionnaires, interviews, heuristic testing, and focus groups. Current validated methods and tools and strategies to aid in successful implementation and sustainment are addressed. Lessons learned from the military health system Genesis implementation and rollout as well as two patient portals and secure messaging applications are shared. Participants also are invited to review a sample toolkit.
