Electronic health records (EHRs) are an integral part of patient care. Nurses must educate themselves on how to be prepared for both planned and unplanned downtime events. This panel of experts will review ways to prepare, reviewing the information and tools available in the ANIA Guide and Toolkit: Nursing Downtime Preparedness from SAFER Guides to Practice.

At the conclusion of this activity, the learner will be able to describe the importance of downtime planning and the role of staff in the planning and support.
