Theresa Lynn Calderone EdD, MEd, MSN, RN-BC

Dr. Terri Calderone is a board-certified informatics nurse with over 25 years of experience in health care information technology and informatics. She has worked as a clinical nurse transitioning to information technology and has been active in the implementation of several clinical information systems, most recently, Cerner and Epic Systems at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).  Her roles have included clinical analyst, project lead, and training manager. She also served as the informatics nurse consultant for Magnet re-designation for UPMC St. Margaret. Dr. Calderone has taught health care informatics courses at the graduate level for over five years. Presently, she is serving on the American Nurses Association, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Content Expert Panel for Informatics Nursing and served as a member of the advisory board for the recently published Nursing Informatics: Scope and Standards of Practice. Dr. Calderone is on the nursing faculty at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and supports the integration of the academic electronic health record as part of the student experience. She is currently involved in research projects regarding adoption, health information technology, and assistive devices.
