Susan Brown is the Vice President for Clinical Informatics at US Acute Care Solutions, in Canton, Ohio, where she is responsible for managing the company’s participation in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Quality Payment Program. Prior to joining USACS, Sue spent 12 years with CVS, where she led MinuteClinic’s clinical informatics efforts, including EHR implementation, quality analysis, clinical and business intelligence, and provider education. After graduating as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Case Western Reserve in 1994, Sue discovered her passion for informatics more than 20 years ago while an Assistant Professor at Duke University School of Nursing. Since that time, she has integrated informatics into her work across a number of clinical, academic, and corporate positions. Board-certified by ANCC as a Family Nurse Practitioner and in Nursing Professional Development, Sue is also a Certified Professional in Health Information Systems (CPHIMS) by the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and recently served on the Nursing Informatics Committee of HIMSS. Sue has published and produced a number of articles, webinars, podcasts and presentations pertaining to the discipline of clinical informatics.
