Dr. Mary Jane Rivard is a board-certified informatics nurse specialist with over 33 years of experience across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, home health, and informatics environments. She has over 15 years of informatics and teaching experience. Dr. Rivard is a clinical assistant professor at the University of North Dakota, where she has developed and led graduate and undergraduate informatics courses. As director of the post-master’s doctor of nursing practice program, she advises DNP students, guiding them through project implementation and dissemination. Her academic contributions include publications and presentations reflecting her expertise and commitment to advancing the field of nursing informatics. With a doctor of nursing practice degree from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor of science in nursing degree from North Dakota State University, she has consistently demonstrated excellence in both practice and education. Her professional achievements have been recognized through various awards, including North Dakota Nurse of the Year in Technology. Dr. Rivard holds licensure in North Dakota and Minnesota and maintains her nursing informatics certification from the American Nursing Association.
