If EHRs are not configured and utilized correctly, errors and omissions may occur that threaten patient safety. Nursing students are exposed to a variety of clinical settings and EHR products. This webinar will present findings from a study that evaluated nursing students’ awareness of safe EHR practices utilizing the SAFER guide checklists.

Discuss the importance of utilizing the SAFER guide CPOE and clinician communication checklists to evaluate EHR features
Evaluate common EHR features that were rates as "not implemented" or "partially implemented," as well as nursing students' experiences utilizing the SAFER guides
Identify implications and how the SAFER guides can be used by clinicians in clinical practice to assess EHR safety
