Josh Wymer is Founding Chief Clinical Officer with Shifthive, Inc., a SaaS solution in the healthcare workforce management space. He previously served as a Chief Health Information Officer and Chief Nursing Informatics Officer for the U.S. Navy and Defense Health Agency. He is a proud member of ANIA and the San Diego chapter. As a contributor with the HIMSS Analytics North America Advisory Panel and board member with the Association for Executives in Healthcare Applications, Data & Analytics, he lectures across advanced health care informatics and executive leadership graduate programs at the University of San Diego. As a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), he currently serves on the Editorial Board for Healthcare Executive magazine. As a Fellow with the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN) and a member of the expert panels for Informatics & Technology and Building Health Care System Excellence, he is a recognized advocate for human-centered design, digital health transformation, and interprofessional teams. Josh’s undergraduate degree in nursing is from Seattle University. He completed an M.S. in Nursing, Health Care Informatics, at the University of San Diego, an M.S. in Project Management from Granite State College, and an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies, Enterprise Strategic Planning, from the U.S. Naval War College. His doctoral work at Johns Hopkins explores nursing specialty certification in the perioperative environment and has included efforts in new product development and cybersecurity. He also serves as Vice President, Board of Directors, Competency & Credentialing Institute, Denver, CO. His best practice interests include patient safety, change management, crisis leadership, and interprofessional teams.
