Over the past 4 years, David Alfon has been involved in the deployment, go-live, and support of the electronic medical record at two Los Angeles-area hospital systems. With an educational background in medical anthropology and public health and extensive clinical experience in critical care and emergency nursing, he supported fellow coworkers and hospital administrators as an effective charge nurse, mentor, preceptor, and clinical context expert. David now works as a clinical informatics specialist for Kaiser Permanente Southern California, where he has been involved in optimizing clinical workflows, integrating new patient care technologies, and providing strategic operational leadership.
