Courtney Omary is a senior clinical informatics analyst at WellDoc, Inc., with inpatient and ambulatory nursing experience who believes the transformation of health care begins with patient empowerment.
Courtney earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from Carnegie Mellon University in 1997. She worked as a communication specialist in the advertising industry before returning to the University of Maryland to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2005. She worked first in the Cardiac ICU at Albany Medical Center. In 2007, she returned to her native Baltimore where she worked as a procedure nurse, critical care transport nurse, and case manager for the Johns Hopkins Hospital Cardiology Division in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
While working on her master’s degree at Johns Hopkins, Courtney received an award from the Office of the National Coordinator for HIT to earn her certificate in Applied Health Informatics. She joined WellDoc in November 2011, a company whose vision of empowering patients and healthcare workers with mHealth solutions aligned with her passion for preventative medicine using health IT.
