Brenda Herrmann has almost 30 years of experience as an informatics nurse, with focus on project management and computer systems team leadership. She has presented and published as a subject matter expert on topics such as systems implementation, mentoring, and informatics career advancement at venues such as the Summer Institute in Nursing Informatics (University of Maryland), ANIA, the International Medical Informatics Association NI-WG, HIMSS, and more. Brenda works as a consultant to healthcare systems across the nation. She has served on the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Committee and on the Alliance for Nursing Informatics (ANI) Board of Directors. She is a past president for her chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Brenda received her certification in Project Management (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in 2007 and has been board certified by the ANCC as an informatics nurse since 2002. She received her master’s degree in nursing (informatics focus) from Duke University in 2008. Brenda has obtained her doctor of nursing practice in leadership from the University of Texas at Tyler. Her informatics passion is to improve healthcare by implementing technology that is good for both the clinician and the patient.
