Blake Smith is a clinical documentation senior analyst at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE. He leads inpatient projects in the innovation and technology space, including promoting interoperability (PI) and plan of care for five hospital systems across Nebraska. Smith is an international thought leader in workforce inclusion and men’s health in nursing. In 2018, at age 32, he was elected the youngest president of the American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN), representing male-identifying nurses in the United States, the Philippines, and Canada. With over 11 years of national board service, Smith has contributed to organizations such as the Nurses on Boards Coalition (NOBC), AAMN, and the Diversity Alliance Scholarship Program and has served as a founding commissioner for the National Commission to Address Racism in Nursing. He currently serves as the president-elect of the Nebraska Nurses Association, where he continues to advocate for advancing the nursing profession and improving healthcare access across the state.
