Measurement of nursing informatics competencies of staff nurses presents hurdles for hospitals, as information technology increases demand for specialized skills including increased computer literacy and clinical information management. Understanding the current state is necessary to move forward. The purpose of this project was to obtain a snapshot of the status of self-perceived informatics competencies among staff nurses at Sutter Maternity and Surgery Hospital using the TIGER-based measurement of nursing informatics competencies.
