Luann Whittenburg PhD, RN-BC, FNP-C, CPHIMS, CPHQ

Dr. Luann Whittenburg is the chief nursing informatics officer at a global technology company following several years of information management experience with the federal government in ebusiness, policy, and standards. She is a certified professional in health information and management systems by the Health Information and Management Systems Society and recently served as Chair of the Editorial Board for "Dictionary of Healthcare Information Technology Terms, Acronyms and Organizations.” She is also board-certified by the ANCC in nursing informatics and in 2012 was selected as a panel expert for the ANCC 2013 Nursing Informatics Exam. Dr. Whittenburg also represents the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a US delegate to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on Health Informatics to develop global health data interoperability standards. Her clinical experience is orthopedics, ICU/CCU, oncology, and NICU practicing in a University Medical Center. Her master’s degree is in nursing administration with a post-master’s degree in primary care as a family nurse practitioner.
