Kara Yu RHIT

Kara Yu is a health information management professional with over 25 years of experience. She currently works at Sharp HealthCare as the manager for the health information management (HIM), electronic health record (EHR) document imaging division. Kara first came to Sharp as a lead coder and was promoted to HIM manager at Sharp Chula Vista Hospital. In Kara’s current role at the Sharp System level, she oversees point of care scanning and post-discharge scanning. She partners with multiple teams to standardize forms, documents, and scanning processes across all Sharp hospitals. Kara’s love for gardening has given her the passion to save trees and “go green,” which supports Sharp HealthCare’s organization-wide paper reduction initiatives.
