Maryam Zaringhalam PhD

Data Science and Open Science Officer, National Library of Medicine

Dr. Maryam Zaringhalam is the data science and open science officer in the National Library of Medicine’s Office of Strategic Initiatives. In this role, Dr. Zaringhalam works to enhance capacity in the biomedical research community for data science and open science, as well as promote diversity, equity, and inclusion among the research work force. Prior to her current position, she was an AAAS Science and Technology Policy fellow at the National Library of Medicine from 2017 to 2019. She received her PhD degree in molecular biology from the Rockefeller University in 2017. She is a long-time science communicator and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the sciences, working as a senior producer for the science-inspired storytelling series The Story Collider.
