Patricia Greim MS, RN

Patricia Greim is a Health Scientist at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. She achieved a master's in nursing with a concentration in clinical information systems from Excelsior College in 2008. Her career was originally centered in critical care and she became known as "the computer nurse" when she sought to track and trend patient outcomes. Her first informatics position was with the Indian Health Service where she led a team that created an electronic tracking system for quality assessment. After she presented at the Summer Institute of Nursing Informatics, the VA recruited her to lead their transition from paper to the computerized patient record. She provided six years of implementation and usability support in Alaska before moving to Florida to work in design and development. For the past 10 years, Ms.Greim has focused on the terminology and information modeling standards that are foundational for interoperability. She joined the Office of the National Coordinator last year and is working with a team committed to creating a future of patient centered interoperable health records.
