Janie Schumaker is the Chief Nursing Officer for T-System in Dallas, Texas. In this role she uses her expertise to recommend clinical and industry best practices that help clinicians deliver better, more efficient care in the busy and evolving unscheduled care continuum.
Janie has over 25 years of healthcare experience, and is a prolific speaker, writer and advocate for nurse leadership, patient care, regulatory guidelines and clinical quality.
She is also involved in several healthcare organizations including the Academy of Healthcare Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives, Emergency Nurses Association and Society of Trauma Nurses, and currently serves as chairperson for the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing, which continually evaluates and upgrades the certification exams for the over 36,400 emergency nurses in the United States.
