Nina Carter serves as the Directory of Nursing Informatics, Clinical Education, and Research at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) in Las Vegas. During her 35 plus years in nursing, she has worked many specialties both in acute and ambulatory care environments. After completing her BSN and working as a nurse in Chicago, she moved with her family to Las Vegas. Here she pursued graduate studies while focusing her work on nursing education. She had opportunity to work in software development and nursing informatics prior to her employment at UMC, which facilitated her work there in building a nursing informatics department and assist in EHR implementation.
