Ellen Parker has developed a love of education as an adult. She began her career as a nurses’ aide, then went to school to become an LPN, and obtained her RN license, all while being a wife and mother. The advice of a consultant she was working with led her to research nursing informatics. At the time, she didn't know what it even was, but did some ground work and decided this would be a dynamic field and the right choice for her. She went to graduate school and completed her master's in nursing, with a post-graduate specialization in nursing informatics. She is planning to pursue certification this summer and continue to explore all the possibilities she has been afforded.
