Healthcare is rapidly moving beyond the implementation of the electronic health record (EHR). Nursing faculty must expand beyond the EHR in order to address the use of increasingly sophisticated information systems and technologies in the delivery of patient care. This webinar discusses nursing informatics concepts and skills being expanded across undergraduate and graduate curricula to meet the challenge of preparing nurses to function safely and effectively in our contemporary, high tech healthcare environment. We discuss a three-prong approach to increase faculty's informatics competencies along with strategies in course design, technology tools, professional development and more.
